Mosiac (Smeralda Cltv.) is a new apple variety from the CIV breeding program in Italy. This scab resistant tree is home grower friendly, precocious (produces fruit early) and productive. The fruit is comparable to granny smith but sweeter. It can be picked green or allowed to fully ripen and turn yellow as the fruit will hang on the tree late into the season.

Trees are on semi-dwarf EMLA 111 rootstock that produces larger semi-dwarf (80% size) or around 18' tall with trees that are very well anchored and can handle heavy, poorly drained soils well. Trees are very cold hardy and adaptable to a wide variety of conditions. Trees on EMLA 111 are a good choice for backyard or acreage growers who want a tree that is smaller than standard yet can provide some valuable shade.
