Contender is a very cold hardy peach that grows well in cold northern environments. 

It is tolerant to disease and excellent for eating fresh, freezing or canning. 

It is a freestone so that the fruit easily falls away from the pit (seed). 

Fruit is medium to large, sweet and juicy. 

Trees are reliable and abundant producers.
