Himbo-Top is a newer variety that produces HUGE, bright red berries from very vigorous, Phytophthora root rot resistant plants. Many report it to requires less fertilizer than other varieties, making it a good choice for organic growers and those with less fertile soil.
Adapted for growing zones 4-8.
- 2 year old bare root canes. (Produce some fruit the first year. More economical, less effort to plant. Best option for large plantings)
Everbearing also called (fall-bearing or primocane-bearing) raspberries produce fruit on first year canes in the late fall. You can double crop the canes by keeping the canes over the winter and getting a second crop from the same canes in late spring. Or, more simply plants can also be managed by cutting all canes down in late winter for a larger single fall crop.
