Joan J raspberries are thornless, everbearing red raspberries that produce a bumper crop of large, delicious and easy to pick berries. It's sure to be a family favorite for years to come.
Adapted for growing zones 4-8.
- 2 year old bare root canes. (Produce some fruit the first year. More economical, less effort to plant. Best option for large plantings)
Everbearing raspberries (also know as fall-bearing, primocane or double cropping raspberries) can produce fruit for an extended period of the growing season. First, around July on year old canes (floricanes) and again around September on the new canes (primocane). They can also be managed like traditional summer-bearing raspberries by removing the canes each winter and only harvesting the fall crop on the newly grown canes. Visit the University of Minnesota's raspberry growing guide for a great source of information.
