Long John European plum produces very large, dark blue, high quality plums. The tree is very productive, grows upright and has good vigor. Long John is self-fertile so it can be grown alone but will benefit from cross pollination with another European plum tree. Our 2026 season pollination partner for Long John is Stanley European Plum.

Trees are grafted onto Krymsk 86 (K86) full size (12-15' tall), high performing, cold hardy stone fruit rootstock selected in Russia. It is very well anchored, tolerates a wide variety of soil conditions, including some wetter soils as it is resistant to most root diseases.
