Northwest Greening is an heirloom variety that is very cold hardy, vigorous and grows to be quite large. The trees produce giant, bright green, tart apples that are best for baking. These trees make an excellent alternative to the less cold hardy Granny Smith.

Semi-dwarf on EMLA 111 rootstock that produces larger semi-dwarf (80% size) trees that are very well anchored and can handle heavy, poorly drained soils well. Trees on EMLA 111 are a good choice for backyard or acreage growers who want a tree that is smaller than standard yet can provide some valuable shade.
