Spur Winter Banana Apple Tree | EMLA 7 (60% Size) - Bare Root (Spring 2026)

Spur Winter Banana tree is a heirloom apple variety with unique sweet, tangy flavor with just a touch of banana. Fruit is good fresh or in cider. It is commonly used as a pollinator in commercial orchards with this selection particularly popular as it is low maintenance and more compact in size due to it's spur growth type.  Trees are still considered vigorous and are susceptible to fireblight.  Excellent pollinator trees for mid and late blooming apple varieties and have even shown success pollinating early blooming varieties. Spur winter banana is partially self-fertile so it can be grown alone and produce fruit.

Semi-dwarf on M7 rootstock. Producing a tree approximately 60% of standard size or around 12-15' tall. M7 rootstock makes for a very hardy, drought tolerate and adaptable tree that grows good sized fruit beginning in the 3rd or 4th year. M7 is the most popular rootstock in America. It can produce some suckers.
