Summit Sweet Cherry Tree | Gisela® 12 - Bare Root (Spring 2026)

Summit sweet cherry produces large, juicy, dark and delicious cherries that can be almost heart shaped. The trees are heavy producers and adaptable, being a popular choice for commercial and home growers. One of the most cold hardy sweet cherries around.  Summit is not self pollinating and does require another compatible sweet cherry for pollination. Stardust sweet cherry is our recommended 2025 pollination partner for Summit sweet cherry.

Trees are on Gisela 12 rootstock.  It is premium, semi-dwarf (60% of standard), precocious and resists suckering.  Trees are widely adapted to various soil types, well anchored and have spreading, open branch structure. Gisela 12 has proven to be more tolerant to heavier, wetter soils than CT500 Mahaleb rootstock. All of these characteristics make for and excellent cherry tree for any home or acreage.
