Shiro is a heirloom yellow Japanese plum that has stood the test of time for good reason. It has been around since 1899. Productive, vigorous trees produce large, bright yellow plums with a pleasant sweet flavor. It ripens early and consistently produces because it is adaptable to a wide variety of conditions. A great multipurpose plum being great eaten fresh, canned, jelly/jam or in desserts.
Shiro is NOT self-fertile and requires another compatible Japanese plum for proper pollination and fruit production. Methley or Vanier Japanese plums are our 2026 recommended pollination partners for Shiro.
