Vanier plum is a Japanese plum developed by the Vineland breeding program in Ontario, Canada. It's sweet fruit is bright red on the outside and yellow inside. Fruit tends to cluster and ripens over a wider window to allow many opportunities for tasty snacks straight from the tree. Trees are vigorous, precocious (quick to fruit) and very productive.
It is an excellent pollinizer for other plum trees but is not self-fertile. Like most plum trees, it will require another plum for pollination. Methley or Shiro Japanese plums are our 2026 recommended pollination partners.
